E+H advised Wien Energie, one of Austria’s leading energy suppliers, on acquiring a portfolio consisting of two wind farms and a solar park from ImWind, a pioneer in renewable energies. The plants, with a total capacity of 130 MW, are located in Lower Austria and Burgenland and will generate around 280 GWh of clean electricity annually, which can supply around 80,000 households with green energy. This acquisition will enable Wien Energie to significantly increase its wind power production.
Wien Energie supplies around two million people and 230,000 commercial and industrial facilities in Austria with energy. The company focuses on generating sustainable energy through combined heat and power generation, waste recycling, and renewable energies such as wind, solar, hydropower, and biomass. With the long-term goal of climate neutrality by 2040, Wien Energie is solidifying its role as a trailblazer in renewable energies.
ImWind, a leading producer of renewable energy in Austria, develops and operates wind and photovoltaic plants in Austria, Germany, and Italy. ImWind produces over 1.2 TWh of green electricity annually and plans to more than double its production by 2030.
